On November 12th, the reporter learned from the Information and Communication Management Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that in order to deeply implement the important instructions of the Secretary and the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, accelerate the innovative development of "5G+Industrial Internet", and create a Chinese brand of 5G factories, various regions have promoted the construction of 5G factories in accordance with the Guidelines for the Construction of 5G Fully Connected Factories, achieving positive results. After being recommended by the provincial industrial and information management department, the communication management bureau, and reviewed by the Industrial Internet Strategy Consulting Expert Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology plans to approve 300 5G factory projects to be included in the 2023 5G Factory List.

The list for this public announcement includes coal mining and coal washing industry, non-ferrous metal mining and selection industry, non-metallic mining and selection industry, agricultural and sideline product processing industry, food manufacturing industry, alcohol and beverage and refined tea manufacturing industry, textile industry, textile and clothing industry, petroleum, coal and other fuel processing industry, chemical raw material and chemical product manufacturing industry, with a total of 300 projects selected.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the 2023 Work Plan for the Industrial Internet Special Working Group, proposing to carry out 11 key actions, including strengthening the foundation of the network system, enhancing identification analysis, strengthening the platform system, empowering data aggregation, cultivating new models, deepening integration and application, building key standards, enhancing technological capabilities, promoting industrial coordinated development, strengthening security, and deepening open cooperation. The 512 upgraded work plan of "5G + industrial Internet" shall be formulated and implemented. Efforts should be made to promote at least 3,000 enterprises to build 5G plants, establish at least 300 5G plants, build 30 pilot benchmarks, publish the directory of the first batch of 5G plants and prepare typical case book.

According to the Industrial Internet Industry Alliance’s "5G Factory Seed Project" statistics, as of September this year, there are more than 1,800 5G factory projects in China, involving 29 provinces (regions, cities), covering 10 key "5G+Industrial Internet" industries such as equipment manufacturing, electronic equipment manufacturing, petrochemical and chemical engineering, ports, as well as other industries such as non-ferrous metals and materials. Project types include production lines, workshops, factories, and other levels.
